Come Home to First Baptist

International Missions

International Missions
In keeping with Jesus’ commands, First Baptist seeks to take the Gospel to the “ends of the earth” through international efforts. Our church recently completed a partnership in Germany, is presently extending a partnership in Liberia, is encouraging partnerships on behalf of Ricks Institute and is responding to the needs of a historical partnership in Kazakhstan.

Ricks Institute, Monrovia, Liberia (link: www.ricksonline.org)
First Baptist enters its fourth year as a partner with Ricks. Our efforts include a combination of education, spiritual nurture, construction, development of new (U.S.) partnerships, student sponsorships and dreaming alongside the Ricks community. Many members of FBC have traveled to Ricks and return with a changed outlook and a renewed commitment to sharing Jesus in this world. The relationships that develop on these short-term mission trips have expanded to include the listeners of stories told by Ricks’ missionaries. Now, many are interested in catching the “Ricks Bug”!

RISS – Ricks Institute Student Sponsorship
Students have a lifetime need at Ricks: to receive an education. They also have a practical need that we can help meet: providing for that education. As a sponsor, one has the ability to activate a child’s education that will in turn impact the future of Liberia. The sponsorship program provides funds that apply directly to pay tuition so children can attend Ricks. Our partnership provides more than just funds. This program is relational as well with sponsor and student corresponding throughout the year as a means of additional support and encouragement. Sponsorship begins at thirty dollars per month to sponsor one child. Other options are available.

Rainbow Church, Almaty, Kazakhstan
Within the past year FBC hosted the pastor’s son, Yuri, while he visited partners in the United States. We also assisted Rainbow Church with its orphanage ministry by updating a projection system they use to share the Gospel of Jesus. Another vital aspect of this ministry is the mutual exchange of prayer concerns and encouragement.
