Come Home to First Baptist
Children's and Preschool Choirs
Wednesdays at 6:00 PM
For Grades One-Five
This year our program has grown and we are able to provide two classes.
First and Second Grades meet in the “Promise Land Production Room” The leaders are Mrs. Sharon Hogan, Susan Elder and Mrs. Cheryl Tate. Third through Fifth Grades meet in room 206.
Leaders are Mr. Ryan Dobbins, Mrs. Babbs Douglas and Miss Sally Petway is the pianist.
The focus is to provide training in basic musical skills such as melody, form, rhythm, vocal technique as well as opportunities to work with Orff Instruments. There are opportunities for some art activities and learning some basic drama skills.
The children are provided opportunities to share their musical gifts in Worship Services.
For the past few years the Children’s Choir has presented musical dramas such as
“Ester Ordinary Faith”, “Once Upon a Starry Night”, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”,” Donkey Tales” and “Table for Five Thousand”
In the summer 2010 FBC will host its Second Annual Music Camp and at the end of the week present a full length musical.
Beyond the fun and learning our mission in Children’s Arts is to provide an opportunity to learn how to be worship leaders and give God our very best.
