First Baptist Church seeks to minister to those serving in the US military by embracing them and drawing them into our family of faith. Many who serve in active duty and reserves have found a place to connect and utilize their gifts as God directs them.  We are listed on militarymissionsnetwork.com as a military friendly church.

 

One of our ministries is called Operation Appreciation, a ministry to soldiers in training. We host 80 soldiers each quarter and give them a time of rest and comfort. Lots of food and fellowship as well as the opportunity to call family on loaned cell phones or check email in our ten station computer lab helps to let them know that they are loved and appreciated. As these recruits board the buses to go back to Ft. Benning, they do so feeling the warmth of concern and knowing that prayers are being lifted up on their behalf.
